TURTLE AND
TANGS Drawing inspiration from nature, artist Karen Kessel creates surrealistic impressions, relying on her own experiences as a scuba diver and outdoor enthusiast. Media includes stained glass, fused glass, colored ink drawings and collage. Her current work focuses on tropical reef fish and reef critters of the world’s oceans. For inspiration when not underwater, Yosemite is only a few minutes away and offers up dramatic scenes of the shear granite, waterfalls, oaks and evergreens along with abundant wildlife. The drawing above, "Turtle and Yellow Tangs" is just one of many pen and ink creations Karen has drawn.
